Send Flowers

October 21, 1918 - January 20, 2014 After reading many obituaries for friends and family, over the years, Barbara wrote her own, as follows: Write it Light When I depart this mortal coil, I'd rather you didn't spoil my obit with such inane clauses as "passed away from natural causes"...

Not sure what to say?

I remember Barbara as one of the nicest, smartest person I had ever met. She was a neighbor, I lived on Woodcliff rd. I was about 13 years old and new Linda and Gina. We would sit at her table for hours at a time talking about everything. She was so loving!! and so smart! She made me feel wanted. What great memories that I had of her as a young person. She made me feel wanted. You see I was the black sheep in my family. Thank you Barbara for all your kind words to me back then. May you rest...

Aunt Barbara was Lauren Bacall to me and Uncle Pete was Humphrey Bogart. I loved them both , they were the celebrities of my life! RIP

At the pool circa 1962-63

She is off like clouds constantly re-forming into new shapes, blown by nameless, unidentifiable winds to where she can find peace. I will miss you. Thanks for what you taught me. I love you.

How kind of you to publish these lines! They are a fine tribute to a remarkable lady. I have the impression she is smiling each time someone she never met, laughs and shares her words with his or her own loved ones. She will be remembered with fondness by a much wider circle than she could have imagined.

Thank you for this gift in your time of loss.

Several years ago I got a tattoo for my Grandma. Isn't she beautiful?

At age 80, I feel so much Barbara's sentiments. No "died of complications of ....", please...just "died of certification of age"... Would have loved to have been Barbara's friend
