WELLS - Mrs. Barbara J. Wells, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2002, surrounded by her loving family in the warm inviting home she created over the years. Her passions of cooking, quilting and flower gardening were evident everywhere. Barbara was know for her peach pies, picnics, crafts, and loving child tending. She will be greatly missed by her husband of 52 years, Alvan; children, Debbie Tavolacci, Kurt Dawn Wells, Kitty Tom Dykema, Terri Vic Holshoe, Thomas Theresa Wells, Scott Wells, Walt Diana Wells, Kimberly Brad Knoth, Melissa Carl Johnson; 30 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren. Also surviving are one sister Elise Rodibaugh; two brothers-in-law, Gerald Stratton and Lynn Maxine Wells; one sister-in-law Roberta Milt Leidner; many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends, Jan, June, Doris, Elnora and Joann W. Barbara was preceded in death by one son, Brian Wells; grandson Jared Dykema; one sister Janice Stratton; brother-in-law Meurl Rodibaugh; and daughter-in-law Rhonda Wells. A private graveside service has been held at Riverbend Cemetery. A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday, March 20 at 3 p.m. from the Grandville United Methodist Church, 3140 Wilson Ave. SW, in Grandville, with Rev. James Hodge officiating. The family will meet with relatives and friends two hours prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, a contribution in memory of Barbara may be made to Hospice of Michigan, March of Dimes or MADD. Those unable to attend the visitation or service may sign the family’s Memory Book at www.cookfuneralhome.com
