Barbara June Selby, 85, of Marshall formerly of Tekonsha, died on Monday, July 26, 2010, at her daughter's home. Mrs. Selby was born June 8, 1925, in Flowerfield Township, to Cleo and Marie (Downey) Spence. She graduated from Tekonsha High School. On February 9, 1943, she married Donald L. Selby in Pleasant Hill Township, Michigan. He preceded her in death on December 8, 1988. Mrs. Selby worked for Randall's Canning Products for 39 years retiring in 1987. Along with that she also was a loving mother and wife taking care and raising her family. When she was healthy, she was a faithful member of the Tekonsha First Baptist Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher. Mrs. Selby was a member of the Oaklawn Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed camping at Tri Lake Trails Campground, traveling to Florida. She enjoyed helping and taking care of others. She is survived by two daughters, Ruth Ann (Jim) Kidney of Burlington, Linda (Danny) Montgomery of Florida, three sons, Buddy Selby of Illinois, Robert (Sharon) Selby, of Tekonsha, and Don Selby of Florida. She is also survived by 16grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister-in-law Alice Bunday, and a brother-in-law Charles (Carol) Selby all of Florida, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a daughter Donna Baldwin in 1987, and an infant grandson Danny Montgomery. Visitation will take place from 1pm-2pm, and memorial service celebrating her life will take place at 2pm on Saturday, July 31, 2010, at the First Baptist Church of Tekonha with Pastor Wayne Halbleib officiating. Interment of cremated remains will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha. Memorial contributions may be made to Oaklawn Hospice or Oaklawn Visiting Nurses.
