To Anastasia, Ben, and Patrick: in all the years I taught school, your mom stands out as being one of the finest parents ever. She was always ready to volunteer her time and talents for Northwood, and always with a smile on her face. Barb laughed a lot, and that reminded me to find the humor in daily life. Barb was amazing and beautiful in every way possible. I was so excited and joyful every time she would walk into our classrooms smiling at Franke Park or just seeing her walking by on the street after graduating and becoming an adult. She was always Mrs Shown, no matter how old we got.
She made every field trip, science project, school event and class lesson exciting. She treated all of us as if we were all her kids. Almost 30 years later and just thinking about her brings a smile...
