Barbara Kay Wieclaw, 75, of Akron, formerly of Ravenna, passed away Sunday, September 2, 2018.
Born March 3, 1943 in Bedford, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Corinne (Gardner) Witt. She married her high school sweetheart, Ziggy Wieclaw, on January 13, 1962 and enjoyed 56 years of marriage. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, neighbor, and friend.
In addition to spending time with family and friends, she loved relaxing at the pool and vacationing on a sunny beach. She was known for her kindness and willingness to help others and took pride in making and serving her famous Red Waldorf cake.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Connie Witt; in-laws, Zigmund and Juanita Wieclaw; sister, Kathryn Ginther; brother-in-law, Huey Scarlett; and sister-in-law, Nancy (Wieclaw) Larson.
She is survived by her husband, Ziggy; daughter , Sharon (Thomas) Serle of Brimfield; sons: Steven of Cleveland and Scott (Amy) Wieclaw of Delaware, Ohio; grandchildren: Thomas Serle and Madison and Marin Wieclaw; great-grand
daughter, Erissa Snyder; sisters: Norma Scarlett and Laura (Douglas) Fleming; brothers-in-law: Dennis Ginther, Chris (Mary) Wieclaw, Wally (Sharon) Wieclaw and Daniel (Connie) Wieclaw; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received on Sunday, September 9, 2018 from 3 - 6 p.m. at Wood-Kortright-Borkoski Funeral Home, 703 E Main St, Ravenna. Funeral Service will take place at the funeral home on Monday, September 10, 2018 at 10 a.m. with Rev. William Kraynak officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in Ravenna.
