Barry W. Hunsicker, 81, of Orefield, passed away Monday, March 10, 2025 at Cornerstone Living, New Tripoli, where he had been residing. He was the husband of Karen J. (Snyder) Hunsicker to whom he was married 59 years. Born in Allentown, August 19, 1943, Barry was the son of the late Warren and Evelyn (Heintzelman) Hunsicker. He faithfully and honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War Era. A member of Teamsters, Local #773, Barry was a truck driver for Roadway Express, Allentown for 36 years before retiring. Prior to that, he worked for Mitchell Transport, Fogelsville and Carl Betz, Orefield in the same capacity. He was a member of Morgenland Union Church, Orefield. A lover of outdoors, Barry enjoyed farming, camping with family, clamming, and hunting. He was a member of the Ontelaunee Region A.A.C.A for 20 years and enjoyed his 1953 Chevy. The name he was most proud of was “Pappy”.


Survivors: In addition to his loving wife, Karen; children, Cheryl L. Culp (William), Wayne S. Hunsicker (Donna), Barry W. Hunsicker, Jr. (Amy) all of Orefield; sister, Grace Lloyd (Russ) of Breinigsville; grandchildren, Travis (Emily), Tony (Emily), Hunter (Kina), Brett (Taylor), Ty, Alicia; great grandchildren, Havyn, Sophia, Kain Culp & Avery and Owen Hunsicker; predeceased by brothers, Carl and Gerald Hunsicker. 


Service: A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 17, 2025 at Morgenland Union Church, 3120 Weidasville Road, Orefield. Family and friends may pay their respects from 9:00- 11:00 a.m. Monday in the church. Interment with military honors will follow in the adjacent church cemetery. The Heintzelman Funeral Home, Inc., Schnecksville is in charge of arrangements. Online expressions of sympathy may be recorded at www.heintzlemancares.com

Barry, you are now relieved from your post. A job well done fellow Vietnam Veteran. The final battle is now over and peace has been restored.
