SAUNDERS, Barry W. - Of Flint, age 65, died Monday, March 17, 2008 at his residence. Funeral service will be held at 11AM Thursday, March 20, 2008 at Calvary United Methodist Church, 2111 Flushing Road, Flint, Reverend Ray McGee officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Carman-Ainsworth Educational Foundation. Visitation 5-8PM Tuesday, 11AM-3 and 5-8PM Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road. Barry was born in Detroit, Michigan on December 6, 1942, the son of Bert and Beulah (Sharp) Saunders. On May 30, 1983 he married Ann George. He was a member of Carman-Ainsworth School Board and Calvary United Methodist Church. Mr. Saunders retired in 2001 from the Flint City Police Department and also worked for H & R Block for over 20 years. Surviving are wife, Ann; children, Bryan Wiggs of Flint, Rebecca and husband Ryan Fletcher of Flint and Jessica of Flint; 1 granddaughter, Kylie; brother, Ronald and wife Janice Saunders of Lapeer; many nieces and nephews. Family of Barry - I just learned Saturday of Barry's passing and want to share that he and my late husband, Bob Rebhan, worked together at H&R Block for several years. I also knew Barry before I retired from Carman-Ainsworth in 2000, and knew him as a "friend for all", kind, compassionate man. My sympathy to all of his friends and family. Nancy
