Not sure what to say?

I talk about Bart often with my friends and miss his sense of humor, his ability to talk on any subject and his unique personality. His brilliance is unquestioned but there was another side to Bart that he likely only shared with those he trusted. I miss his company and rock talk--Seattle is no longer a place to be for me.

Bart was one of the most unique individuals I ever met.. Since I was the Electron microscope repair guy at Boeing and his first electron microscope came from there, we met and became good friends and mentors. If there is a hereafter .....I´m sure that Bart is collecting on a galactic level. Pete

I never met Bart... but I wish that I had. I paid hundreds of dollars for a single copy of his book Minerals of Washington. Thank you Bart for all your hard work and amazing genius. Your spirit will always carry on friend.

I met Bart several years ago when he answered an ad that I place on a mineralogical website. I flew to Seattle and his initial wariness quickly faded when we shared our love of minerals, localities and the history of collecting, etc. I visited him almost every year since and I very much enjoyed his company, conversation and stories. I will miss him---the world is far less interesting without him.

Bart was the best electron microscopy professional that I have ever worked with--truly brilliant. His specialty was ore minerals, but he was good at identifying all minerals. Bart knew everything about minerals. He will be greatly missed.
