Spc. Beau R. Beaulieu''s family had already suffered a military loss a decade ago. His stepfather''s brother, Thomas Field, was killed and his body was dragged through the streets of Mogadishu, Somalia, in 1993. "I can''t even imagine how difficult it would be to have a couple of immediate family members, loved ones, lost under these circumstances," said Jim Bennett, a family friend. "It has to be the most challenging circumstances anyone can go through." Beaulieu, 20, based at Fort Hood, Texas, died in a mortar attack May 24 near Baghdad. He graduated from high school in Lisbon, Maine, in 2002 and got married shortly before leaving for Iraq. In the school''s yearbook, Beaulieu said he planned to go to college after the Army. English teacher Jill Hooper said Beaulieu "believed in what was right" and would have been proud of his Army service. Survivors include his wife, Christina, a high school classmate.

Not sure what to say?

Hello,
We realize that we are very late to express our deepest condolences, but we wanted to let your family and friends know that we will be sending Care Packages to deployed troops this week and we'll be dedicating several of these to your loved one. Each package will carry the name, photo and the hometown of Beau R. Beaulieu US Army Specialist. We realize that this is a small tribute, but we do this with all respect and sincerity and we want you to know that it is made possible by...

11 years later my brother, you are never forgotten.

To the family and friends of Spc. Beau R. Beaulieu:
It has truly been my honor to sign Beau's guest book these past few years. Unfortunately, due to complications from my Multiple Sclerosis, this may be the last message I'm able to write. Please forgive me and know that Beau will always be remembered in my home.
With love and respect ~ Peggy

As we drove past the sign for Lisbon today-we were reminded of the ultimate sacrifice you made for this nation. We remember May 24th as a particularly special day to honor our nephew PFC Owen Witt, SPC Beau Beaulieu and the other HEROES gone on this date. Let us never forget 24 May 2004.
Peace, light and hope.

In memory of Beau Beaulieu.
