Read Morei worked with Dr. Markarian at Upstate Medical Center Syracuse NY from 1977 until 1982. He was a wonderful teacher with a lively sense of humor. I am saddened by his passing. His teachings and principles will live on in his students. My condolences remain with his family.

I volunteered with Dr. Markarian at VIM. I often interpreted for his patients. To the Hispanics, he introduced himself as Dr. Pedro. He was a very kind and caring physician who always took good care of his VIM patients. It was a pleasure knowing him.

Dr. Markarian was my pathology teacher at Upstate in 1974 when I was Physical Therapy student. He was a wonderful professor who treated us with respect and professionalism.

My father and Pete were friends at SUNY medical school. They were in a conference together the day that JFK was shot. We moved from Syracuse in 1975. My dad would have loved to have known that Pete had moved to the island too. Sorry for your loss.
