Not sure what to say?

Forever Gentle Ben. What an honor to know and work with him!

Growing up in San Francisco, I grew up watching Ben report the news on Ch. 5 and then I had the honor and privilege of working with him at KPIX. He was a hard-working reporter and a super role model. He will be missed. My deepest condolences to the Williams family.

We grew up watching Ben Williams on the KPIX News, and he was special source of pride us as African Americans. Later in life we had the pleasure of worshiping with him and his wife, Vivian, at the 8:30 AM mass, and he eventually honored us in our home as a volunteer guest speaker for a Haitian Relief Fundraiser. Ben was a gentle soul who had a wonderful presence and command about himself. We are saddened to learn of his passing and want to extend our deepest condolences to Vivian and...

My sympathies to the Williams family. On the air, Ben was a tough, no-nonsense, straightforward journalist. Off the air, he was warm, witty, and generous. I got to meet him as he came full circle, returning to print with his articles in the Broadcast Legends' newsletter. He was a modest pioneer; a real talent; a great guy.

I remember watching this handsome young man on the news when I was a little girl living in Oakland, California. I'm happy to know that he had lived a long life, enjoyed his retirement and travel the world with his darling wife. May God bless you Ben and your family. Rest in heavenly peace.

Ben with Bay Area anchor ladies, 2004

I had the good fortune of sitting near and working with Ben in the KPIX newsroom for almost 10 years. He was a wonderful mentor, teacher, journalist and humanitarian with a great sense of humor. But most of all he was an elegant gentleman and a friend. He will be missed. My deepest sympathy to his family.

I never had the pleasure to meet him. But when I saw him on TV doing his reports, I could tell he was a man with honor and class. Rest in peace Mr. Williams.

I worked with Ben for many years at KPIX -TV. I have many fond, happy memories. I will miss him.

Wow nothing special from the station to remember this awesome man. Ben Williams was the face of KPIX for years, he had a distinctive style and voice, he will be missed.
