I am so sorry for your loss. Your husband was a person that was always there to lend a helping hand. I was lucky to be his friend for over 45 years. Even though we didn't see each other often I knew it was always there. I was reflecting tonight on the many times Bert and I were out having fun. We were in high school together, in the army together and he was in my wedding. I can say that he truly cared about others and making sure he was there when needed. I know many people, have a lot...

I am so sorry to hear of your loss, Teri. I was not aware that Bert was ill until I read his obituary in the paper. Bert was truly one of the good guys. He was always there to support and lend a helping hand. He exemplified the way a plant manager should manage his school. He was a good role model for his peers and the young men who attended Will C. Wood. I never heard Bert complain about anyone or anything, and everyone on staff liked and respected him. It was a privilege to work with...

The best that each of us can hope and strive for is that we made the world a better place while we are here, no matter how long or short our stay. Bert embodied that. He made our community a better place with his positive attitude, compassion, and generous heart. He was so kind, going out of his way to help others. Bert was a perfect fit for our school community because he genuinely cared about children and he demonstrated, through his own actions, what it is to be your best self. I will...

Dear Terri and family,
I am so very, very sorry to learn of your loss. Bert was such a special person. Although I had known him for several years, I especially got to know him even better when we were on the same district committee. He was a quiet man, steeped in integrity. He truly helped improve communications in SCUSD and he was such a thoughtful person. He generally wasn't the first to speak, because he was processing what others were saying. But when he did speak up, we all stopped...
