I first met Bette about 10 years ago in the yarn world. She was a very entertaining person. Her shop was my favorite yarn shop in New Orleans. Sometimes I would just go to her shop and visit. I learned a lot things in many different subjects from her.

While working as Bette's housekeeper at Seneca Hills Village, I had the pleasure of knowing her. She was an amazing person with a remarkable life story, and I feel grateful to have known her. She will be deeply missed.

I was surprised and saddened to hear of Bette's passing. Got to know her while she was living in Seneca Hills Village in Pittsburgh, and she was always enjoyable to converse with. Never knew how accomplished she was. She will be missed by many.

I am saddened by the sudden and unexpected passing of Bette. I spent years working with her during my residency and fellowship when she, as a bacteriology technician and Dr. George Bornside, a veteran of the Battle of the Bulge, established the LSU Surgical Research lab as a facility of world renown. Bette was awarded faculty status before retiring. I said goodbye as she closed her shop and left New Orleans to be close to her son David and Mary. She will be greatly missed by them and...
