     Betty Ann Sturgeon Boyd, 76, of Freeburn, KY, passed away on Wednesday, March 3, 2021, at the Tug Valley Regional Medical Center.
Betty was born on July 25, 1944, the daughter of the late Ira C. and Essie Dotson Sturgeon. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Tommy Baker; her second husband, Ernest Boyd; her sister, Carolyn Sue Wolford; her brothers, Ira Jackie Sturgeon, Larry Sturgeon and her nephew, Eric Sturgeon.
     Betty loved her Lord and loved going to church. She attended Gooslin Bottom Pentecostal Church and loved everyone she met. She had a heart of gold and will be deeply missed by her family. Betty was a homemaker and loved taking care of her cats. Although Betty had no children, her cats were her babies, they were her world.
     Survivors include her brothers, Charles (Irene) Sturgeon of Stopover, KY, and Allen (Georgia) Sturgeon of Freeburn, KY; her sister, Sharon (Audy) Asbury of Freeburn, KY; her brother-in-law, Kennie Wolford; her fur baby, Baby Doll; five nephews; two nieces and a host of other loving family members and friends.
     Funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 7, 2021, beginning at 12 Noon at the Gooslin Bottom Pentecostal Church, with Benny Freeman and Steve Asbury officiating. Burial will follow at the Billy Dotson Cemetery at Boardtree, KY. Betty's nephews and great nephews will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be held on Saturday evening at the church after 6 PM with special services at 7 PM. R.E. Rogers Funeral Home of Belfry, KY, is serving the Boyd family.
