Not sure what to say?

To Betty Lou’s family. We offer our sincere condolences and best wishes. We had so much fun in her ballroom dance classes, the balls and flings, square dancing and all around comradeship with the other couples with whom we became friends for life. She will be sorely missed.

I'm sorry to hear this - I took dance classes from Betty Lou over 20 years ago. She made my children's teenage years so much fun with the two square dancing events she sponsored every year and they became such wonderful family events. May her memory be a blessing.

Keith and I met Betty Lou at the recreation center as a couple who had never danced. This meeting was the beginning of our love of dance. We followed Betty Lou through lessons and celebrations over many years. The passion for her love of dance has been passed on to many. We will honor her by trying to keep the tradition going. Betty Lou's special theme dances will always be remembered... Remember learning the "Grand Parade" that was the finale at many of her dances? My hope is there...

Lovely lady. Enjoyed taking ballroom dance lessons from her many years ago. Thoughts and prayers to her family.

We met Betty Lou at the Kempsville Rec Center and took all of her Ballroom classes there, then continued privately with her for many years after. We met some lifelong friends through her classes, and will never forget her as a fun but hard teacher, expert dancer and her fiercely independent spirit. Those dance shoes will be hard to fill. God bless her and her family.

I was just asking a friend about her a couple of weeks ago. She taught me and my husband dance lessons for our son's wedding. I fondly remember all of the fun suppers and Square Dances she coordinated. She had such a great spirit and lived life to its fullest! My condolences to her family.

We enjoyed dancing with Betty Lou for several years, and have not forgotten what she taught us. She was fun, funny, a taskmaster, an organizer, and an inspiration. She and Roberto got so many people in the area dancing and enjoying the social network she created, she was a wonderful influence in our community. I regret that the Navy transferred me before we got to learn the tango from her. She made moving backwards in high heels look easy, an amazing accomplishment. Although we haven’t...

Robert I was just thinking about her the other day. So sad to hear of her passing, but how appropriate that she passed on her favorite holiday July 4th.

I was saddened to hear about Betty Lou and have many fond memories of her teaching ballroom dance. An especially nice memory was hiring her to provide the night of dancing at a Barn Dance and dinner I hosted for my clients. (They still talk about what fun we had that night!) Mary Lou was a beautiful lady, both inside and out. My thoughts and prayers are with her family.
