Age 80 died at home May 23, 2006. She was the daughter of Frank and Antonia (Joska) Jirasek. She is the proud wife for 58 years to George Otto. Together they raised a family of seven children, five sons, Mark (Sandy) Otto of Howell, Stuart (Deb) Otto of Redman, OR, Scott (Dani) Otto of Pinckney, Gordon (Kathryn) Otto of Howell, and Brady (Rita) Otto of Livonia; two daughters, Corey (Mike) Tidman of Pinckney and Layne (Doug) Fink of Kalamazoo; three sisters, Mamie Cervenak of North Carolina, Libbie Schamanek of Grand Blanc, and Mildred Hartwell of Grosse Ile. She is the grandmother of 16 and great grandmother of 1. Betty loved her family and taught them the extreme value of family, love and support. Her love will endure. Betty is preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Ella. A memorial service will be held at 11AM, Friday, May 26, 2006 at First Presbyterian Church 300 East Grand River, Brighton with Rev Daniel Michalek officiating. The family will receive friends from 10AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospice and envelopes will be available at the service or at Borek Jennings Funeral Home, Lamb Chapel, Howell. I have such fond and wonderful memories of Aunt Betty. She was the most upbeat person I ever knew. When I was having personal problems, she gave me words of support and encouragement, hugs, and, of course, that wonderful smile and laugh! I was glad that I got to spend time with her when she, Uncle George and Aunt Libby came down to NC to visit Aunt Mamie.
