Bettye Jo Blankenship was born in Kaufman on January 14, 1942 and peacefully passed away the evening of July 21, 2021 at UTSW University Hospital Dallas comforted by her daughters. Bettye Jo lived all of her life in Kaufman and graduated from Kaufman High School. Bettye married Robert Blankenship in Kaufman on June 27, 1964. Together they opened Hilltop Auto where she worked alongside Robert maintaining the office. She then worked for 10+ years at the Kaufman County Courthouse serving the community.  Bettye Jo was a beloved Mother, Wife, Nana, Sister and Daughter devoted to caring for her family and grandchildren. She loved her flowers, yard, and gardening, spending hours daily maintaining, decorating and celebrating the seasons. She enjoyed shopping, antiquing, crafting, and always being on the go with her friends. She loved everything Elvis and collecting memorabilia. Bettye was a friend to everyone whose generous heart provided care and support always. Bettye Jo was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Allen Blankenship, her parents, Ralph & Gladys Sims, and brother Billy Gene Sims, all from Kaufman. Bettye Jo is survived by her daughters Kerry Blankenship, Phoenix, AZ and Holly Nartz, Keller, TX; son-in-law Matthew Nartz, and grandchildren Caroline Nartz,  Emily Nartz, of Keller, and Natalie Nartz, Los Angeles, CA; and numerous extended family who will miss her dearly.

Not sure what to say?

You're a lovely soul and will be dearly missed

Kerry, Holly, and girls, my thoughts and prayers are with you today and always, because it didn't start the day of her passing and it won't stop Aug. 7th. There is a grieving process you still have to go through. We all grieve differently and we all go through different stages. It's OK to let go of all your emotions. Sometimes it takes days, sometimes months, and even years.

Bettye Jo always said, Holly has a family to care for, but if I ever get sick Kerry will take care of me....

My thoughts go out to Kerry and Holly! I know she will be missed but never forgotten.

In loving memory of a wonderful person. We will love you and miss you always.

Will be greatly missed.

Prayers. Sending my condolences.❤

So very sorry. She was such a special lady. Enjoyed working with her.
