Not sure what to say?

Beverley Hathaway was my greatest teacher, and she inspired me teach as well. She has been a wonderful blessing in my life. Staying in touch with her from the time she moved away from Bristol in 1959 until just a few months ago when she became too ill to write has been my reward. I will miss her very much. I know how much she loved her nieces and nephews. I am sorry for your loss, and I know you will miss her too.

Mrs. Hathaway is an inspiration to me still. Loved her enthusiasm, knowledge and how she could handle a class with her special panache. Wish I had kept up with her later in life. My deepest sympathy goes out to her family and friends.

Rest easy Mrs. Hathaway - you've earned it. My memories are most fond, and I retain a lot of what I learned from you.

Mrs. Hathaway was a wonderful teacher. She even made me like biology. My condolences to her family on their loss.

My biology teacher at Lane HS...loved her and the class. I'll never forget the class she did on horseshoe crabs. She was a terrific teacher and a wonderful person. Thanks Mrs. "H"...jim

Along with myriad students at Walker JHS and Charlottesville HS, I had the pleasure of having Mrs. Hathaway as my biology teacher. In 9th and 12th grade, she inspired us to jump in and get involved. Her legacy lives on in the lives of the people she touched. Bless you, Mrs. Hathaway!

Please accept my deepest sympathy for your loss. I have fond memories of Mrs. Hathaway when I was in her biology class in the 1960s. She opened her students' eyes to the ebb and flow of nature through many a frog and many a leaf. Not only was she adept at explaining biological concepts, but she cared about each of her students and made sure that each one learned to see life in a new way.

One of the best teachers to grace Cville. Never judged, just inspired and encouraged. When others would have not tried, she invested her all. A quiet hero to me and probably generations of children.
