Not sure what to say?

Dear Mrs. Gallo,

My deepest sympathy to you and your family. I had the honor of meeting your husband while I worked for Sr. Irene Fugazy at ITV over 20 years ago. Mr. Gallo had such a warmth about him and made everyone feel special. (I met the both of you one day when I came to your house to pick up a drawing your husband did for the ITV golf magazine). The two of you couldn't have been any nicer. My prayers are with you. Leslie Milite

Thoughts and prayers being sent to the family and fans of a truly remarkable man.

It was a great honor to have had a chance to spend some time with this great man and the best Sports cartoonist of all time( and a wonderful Boxing Writer as well). As co-proprietor of Runyon's A N.Y. Saloon, dedicated to the Sports Print Media,I will always be gratefull for his occasional visits. After moving to Florida in 1994, I established The Tim Mara Memorial Golf Tournament, and Bill was gracious to draw our Annual Honoree. The N.Y. Daily News and it's readership was blessed to have him.

I am grateful to have been in his presenc and to firsthand witness his wonderful humour. Whereever He is today, He is bringing joy and laughter. From Harlem--Hugh Stroud

Growing up in the 70's I always made it a point to read your cartoons. They were truly magical. The Daily News won't be the same without you..RIP. Tom, Mahopac, NY

He made you think as you read or looked at his drawings.I rarely missed them and have saved several in my collections over many years.Sorry to you all in the family. Johnny C. Wethersfield,Ct.

"Bill and I were not in touch since I left the News a half century ago. We talked almost daily and today I'm remembering his wonderful work. I was in the coloroto section with Bill's pals Kleinfelter, Murphy, and so many others. Rest in God's arms now, you will be missed by so many millions of fans." (Fred Romary)(New Canaan, CT)

My deepest sympathy to Bill's family. It's hard to lose a loved one in death. The God of all comfort calls death "mankind's enemy" in Psalms 90:10. The comfort that you will receive is from a God who cares and comforts you during your time of distress.

GodBless you
