Obituary

MILWAUKEE (AP) - Former Green Bay Packers cornerback Bob Jeter, the father of Wisconsin-Milwaukee men's basketball coach Rob Jeter, has died.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee spokesman Kevin O'Connor said Rob Jeter learned of the death Thursday afternoon and went to join family members in Chicago, where his father lived. He said Rob Jeter told him by phone that his father was believed to have died of cardiac arrest.

O'Connor said Rob Jeter plans to rejoin his team in time for Saturday's game with crosstown rival Marquette.

Bob Jeter, who was 71, played on the Green Bay teams that won the NFL championship in 1965 and the first two Super Bowls. He played for the Packers from 1963-70 and was with the Chicago Bears from 1971-73. He was inducted in 1985 into the Packers Hall of Fame.

Bob played for the B.C. Lions of The Canadian Football League in the early 1960,s.He was a blocking back for Willie Flemming bfore going on to the Packers. Great guy and well thought of up here even today some 50 years plus. GOD REST

As a young boy in Weirton, W. Va, I always cheered for "cousin" BOB, and became a Green Bay Packer fan early. I had no idea he was as good as history portrays, because we loose touch with family when we sometimes move away. but I have tooted Bobs' horn from afar in Baltimore, as my cousin, the best Damn, FEARED, Geen Bay Packer of the day. I'm still proud to have known him.

as a young boy and up to this day, I still tell people, my cousin Bob Jeter is the best Packer in Football. Coming from Weirton West Virginia, we had someone we knew, and could really BRAGG about.............I still do!!!

Bob Jeter has the Hope of a Resurrection. As time goes by Keep his family in our prayers.
Revelation 21:1-4

Bob and I worked together at Unilever Bestfoods it was memorable I will never forget him.

I just this today. Number 21, another of Vince's boys. I hate seeing this, Bob Jeter was still a young man. Coach must have needed another DB in Heavan. God Bless

As a Packers fan, it was my honor to meet Mr. Jeter on several occasions -- he was always very kind and friendly with his fans. I will treasure the autographed picture I have of him and me together, and offer my sincere condolences to his family.
