Bobby L. Gibbs, age 84, of Chapmansboro, TN passed away on Friday, July 4, 2025.
Celebration of Life will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025 at Mt. Hermon Baptist Church with Revs. John Richardson, Mike Madewell, and Tim Ferrell officiating. Burial will follow at Woodall Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 5 to 8 p.m. at McReynolds-Nave & Larson Funeral Home and again on Thursday from 12 noon until the hour of service at the church.
Bobby entered this life on January 27, 1941 in Clarksville, TN to the late Curtis Gibbs and Estelle Clinard Harrison. In 2003, he retired as the Operations Manager for CEMC. Bobby served as a Board Member for the East Montgomery Utility Board and previously served on the Cheatham County Fair Board as well. He was a member of Mt. Hermon Baptist Church, where he served as a cherished Deacon and Sunday School Teacher for the men’s class.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Donald Wayne Gibbs, George Gibbs, and Lillian Ann Gibbs.
Survivors include his loving wife of 66 years, Dorothy “Dot” Morrison Gibbs; children, Eric (Brandy) Gibbs, Brad (Stephanie) Gibbs, and Amy (Russell) Gupton; grandchildren, Caitlin Gupton, and Joseph (Taylor) Gupton; great-grandchildren, Jace Gupton, Brooklyn Grimes, and Peyton Gupton; sister, Joy (Danny) Britt.
Serving as pallbearers will be Andy Street, David Shores, David Jarrell, Phillip Jarrell, Joseph Gupton, and Tom Claybaugh.
Honorary pallbearers will be Men of the Bible Sunday School Class, Eugene Wust, Calvin Stokes, Charles Chandler, and Charlie Simpkins.
Memorial donations may be made to Mt. Hermon Baptist Church for missions.
