Not sure what to say?

I knew Brenda while teaching overseas. She was a great loving person. She will be missed by many.

I am a friend of Brenda's from the Rochester Bridge Club, where she was a regular player for 20 years and loved by all. We will miss her hearty and infectious laugh. The day before her fatal accident, she and I spent over an hour together preparing the bridge hands for the coming week. She was always willing to help.

My favorite memory is from the year 2000 when I was preparing to meet my daughter in Istanbul for a week stay. Brenda strongly suggested buying a rug while I was...

Miss Travis was a wonderful example of what all teachers should be: she inspired us to have courage and to not be afraid to reach for even the loftiest goals.

I was a student in the school at Kagnew Station, located in Asmara, Eritrea where Miss Travis taught for a couple of years in the early 60s. Asmara American Dependent School was a wonderful place to go to school. All grades from K-12 were housed in a series of buildings set around a central courtyard. The majority of...

As a member of the DODDS Okinawa family, former AEAO officer, and fellow Minnesotan, I am deeply saddened to learn of Brenda's tragic passing. She had a special gift of intellect and communication in advocating for teachers. We all owe her a debt of gratitude for her selfless acts on our behalf. My sympathy and prayers go out to Brenda's family.

Brenda Travis was a true, one-of-a-kind friend/Educator. We are all familiar with Brenda's incredible "fairplay" attitude during her many years in the classroom and while representing fellow teachers in the workplace. She was a "natural" during OEA negotiations! Brenda was gracious & generous to her entire DoDDS family, we will never know the influence she had on us all, may she rest in peace.
Thoughts and Prayers for the Travis Family.

Brenda was one of a kind! I enjoyed working across the table during teacher contract negotiations. She will be greatly missed.

I met Brenda in 1971 arriving to teach at Kubasaki High School, Okinawa. We stayed in touch and were just starting to spend more time together as I spend summers in New Richland. I'm so very sad she is gone.

My condolences. Wes Marquess, Also a former DOD teachdr.

I knew Brenda when we taught together at Kubasaki High School on Okinawa in the late 1960s. She was a great friend. She had a strong personality and excellent leadership ability. I kept up with her through the years and often saw her at reunions for those of us who taught together overseas. She and I, with another friend JoAnn Johnson, spent a day together on Lake Coeur d'Alene this summer. It is a wonderful memory of Brenda that I will always carry with me.
