Not sure what to say?

I remember Brett from elementary and junior high school. Lived near us. Used to draw dinosaurs, very artistic, and his Mom was an artist. Creative guy. Lost touch after high school, but looks like he had an interesting life. Sad that he passed so young.

Brett was a great friend. We lived together as roommates for almost 2 months on an NEH Summer Institute. It was a wonderful experience for both of us made even better by the friendships we forged. He will be missed.

I went to school with Brett at Oak / Blach & Awalt. He was a joy and creative force always. RIP Brett

Dear Cheryl, Laurey and Buff,
Gee I'm so sorry to hear of Brett's passing.
I sure miss you mother, i think of her as a best friend and sister.
I would like to try and attend Brett's memorial service. Hoping someone could let me know when and where it will be held.
Hope to see you soon.

Brett was a great colleague and friend, whom I got to know during our time together in the Philosophy and Religious Studies Department at the University of Wisconsin -- Eau Claire, between 1998 and 2004. I recently posted a memorial tribute to him on our departmental web page describing his unique gifts as a teacher and scholar:

A good heart has stopped beating, a good soul ascended to heaven. My deepest sympathies go out to Brett's family and friends. He was a gem of a man. I am better for knowing him. Thanks for the memories, Brett...

As a youth pastor when at Fuller, Brett introduced me to Jesus and gave a great story when enacting the prodigal son parable. I rejoice that our names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life!
