Springfield- Brian D. Murphy, of Springfield, passed away on November 8, 2020, in Springfield, MA. Born on June 16, 1957, he was the beloved son of the late Marie D. and Paul F. Murphy. Cherished brother of Kevin G. Murphy, and his wife, Susan, of Wilbraham, and Paula M. Murphy, of Boston. He leaves his nieces, Erin Murphy Davis, of Arlington, MA, and Brianna McNeish, of Springfield, his nephews, Paul C. Murphy, of E. Longmeadow and Conor Murphy, of Springfield, a grandniece, Nora Davis, and grandnephews, Griffin Davis and Liam McNeish, as well as many cousins. Brian was a graduate of the former Springfield Technical High School and the College of Our Lady of Elms. He was employed with Century Properties for many years. Friends and family are invited to gather for a Funeral Mass for Brian at 11a.m. on Friday, November 13, 2020, at Mary, Mother of Hope Parish, 840 Page Blvd., Springfield, MA, with burial immediately following in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Sorry to hear about Brian. He was a great guy with a great sense of humor. Played many games of hoop at Samuel Bowles School. I worked with Brian at the Honor House in Springfield as he was a licensed clinical social worker helping adolescents with their problems.
