Adela A. Smith Adela A. Smith, 86, loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, born May 29, 1921, to Victor and Manuela Alejandro, died peacefully on September 10, 2007 at her home in Liberty Hill. Adela was active in the Baptist church, was a member of Allandale Garden Club of Austin and was a founder and life member of the Liberty Hill Garden Club. She was a member of China Painter's of America and loved gardening and flower arranging was her special gift. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, James A. (Smitty) Smith and by her daughter, Mary Jane Jones. She is survived by her daughter, Elta Smith; her sons, James Allen Smith and wife Elaine and Arvil A. (Bubba) Smith and wife Barbara; grandson, Aaron Matthew Jones; son-in-law, Richard Jones; grandchildren, Alisha K. Smith, Elta Christina Smith, Megan Ruth Smith, Shannon R. Jones, Richard Erik Jones and Brandon James Smith and friend Erin Hill; step-grandchildren, Bryan and Kyndale Rivas; and great-grandchildren, Austen Matthew Jones, Avery Mychal Jones, Makena Rene Morales and Evan Shea Haenes. Funeral services will held at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday September 12th at the First Baptist Church of Bertram (325 S. Gabriel, Bertram, Texas 512-355-2167). A private family graveside service will be held. Pallbearers will be Garry Vacek, Bob Gerrie, Jay Gerrie, Steve Vacek and Jim Stafford. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice or to the First Baptist Church of Bertram, P.O. Box 1602, Bertram, TX 78605. Our heartfelt thanks to Georgia Grissome, her loving caregiver; to Hospice for the kind support and guidance they provided to our Mother in her final days-especially Carol Kiehl, Anne Hagmann, Wathy Givens, Vyvyan Lucas and Cheryl Meader.
