Byron Hale Delavan

I just learnt today of Byron's passing and was so very sorry to hear the news. Byron would accompany Dolf Goldsmith on his visits to Canada to Collector Grade Publications when Dolf and my late husband, Blake Stevens, were working on a book together. Whilst Dolf and Blake were working, Byron and I had a few adventures, one of which was a fun boat tour of Rice Lake! He was the utmost gentleman and Blake and I remembered his visits with fondness. My sincere condolences to his family.

Quite a remarkable man. When I would get a phone call from him I knew it was time to volunteer for something. Enjoyed his military equipment and always eagerly anticipated the firing of the cannon on the fourth of July. He would always great me with "I know you from somewhere" and a wink. I will miss seeing him shopping at Wegmans with his Russian fur hat on. My thoughts go to Caroline.

Canandaigua has lost a true gentleman. Byron was a statesman and was such an asset to the culture and history of Canandaigua .
Byron always supported Caroline in community fund raising efforts and also by being a friend, advisor and mentor to many. Thank you Byron.

A pleasure to have known and a true gentleman.

Thank you Byron for the fond memories you left with me from when I was a youth at the Sportsmen's Club. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
