C. Lowell Mason, 69, of Grafton passed away Tuesday, January 04, 2005 at Grafton City Hospital. He was born March 11, 1935 a son of the late Charles Burl and Virginia Fawcett Mason. Mr. Mason attended West Virginia University and graduated from Florida State University. He was a retired substance abuse counselor at the Pruntytown Correctional Center and a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Grafton. Lowell was very active with the Convention and Visitors Center in order to promote Grafton.

Mr. Mason is survived by Nancy Parkhill Mason of Grafton, a son and daughter-in-law; C. Adam and Trudi Mason of Alberta, Canada, two daughters and sons-in-law; Melissa and Bruce Gordon of New Orleans, LA, Patricia and Brad Drake of Canonsburg, PA, three grandchildren; Eli and Isaiah Mason and Nicholas Drake and one brother; Thomas Mason of Grafton.

A memorial service will be held 4:00 p.m. Friday, January 7, 2005 at the Church of the Good Shepherd with the Rev. Burt Coffman officiating. Donations may be made in Mr. Mason’s honor to the American Cancer Society or the Taylor County Humane Society. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Bartlett Funeral Home, Grafton. Your loss is felt by many. We who share your loss, like you, are strengthened by the wonderful memories of Lowell. He will never be forgotten by any who knew him. My condolences are extended to Nancy and Lowell's children and grandchildren.

You will be missed and you have been a tremendous help in my life and the lives of so many. Your sense of humor helped to make the rough days easier and your experiences that you talked about helped to ease mine and others pain of our past mistakes.
