Not sure what to say?

I remember Carol fondly. She was a good friend, sorority sister and part of my college family. I still have the gift she gave me for my wedding, a beautiful bowl. Gone, but not forgotten.

I have recurring memories of Carol and our friendship while attending college in Edinboro, my hometown. My parents were also acquainted with Carol and she spent many hours in our home as our guest for dinner or just visiting. I want her family to know how much we thought of her and enjoyed her company.

Time passes so quickly but our memories do not fade away. We still remember Carol, all in our own way. In my memory of Carol, we are both young ladies, freshly graduating from college, out to begin our new careers as art teachers. Though we went our separate ways, making new memories, we still remember the friendship we had in college. Carol was one of those special people in my life. Eleonora Doucette Turnage

Carol was a mentor who became a friend. I have so many memories but her love of art and theater stand out. Once, I was at her house and we were in the kitchen -- she was getting a meal ready. I knew she had been to the ballet the night before so I asked her how it was. She stopped what she was doing -- turned to look at me -- and said, "THRILLING!" That was how she appreciated life and art. She was a huge influence on my life. Huge.

We met Carol when her children were in the orchestra program my husband directed. She was a great sponsor of the arts and wonderful friend to us and to our son and his wife and children. I am so sorry for your loss and her illness; she was a wonderful mother to you all.

Carol was a year ahead of me both in elementary and high school in Waterford, Pa. I recall so well when I was in 1st grade that her mother would drive her to school in their Buick and Carol would walk up the sidewalk carrying her lunchbox. She was liked by everyone. And in high school, both of us played in the band together. She had a radiant personality which one could notice from afar. I remember once seeing and hearing her play at a piano recital. Mostly, my memory of her is an...

Carol and I were classmates at Edinboro State Teachers College. We were both students in the Art Department and shared many classes together. Carol was very close to my parents and exchanged letters and visits for years after graduation. We were good friends but with my living overseas after graduation, we lost contact.I still have the beautiful bowl she gave me for a wedding gift to remember her by. I will always remember her quiet but giving personality. She was a good friend to all who...
