Not sure what to say?

Carol and I go way back like a reclining chair when it comes to scrapbooking. “Do you want a sliced apple, cheese and crackers. She’d put on some jazz and before you know it, it was 1:30 in the morning. Her laugh was loud and contagious, we’d laugh at the craziest stuff. She’d called herself from time to time Mama long legs after her dad as she made her way to her spot at the table.
She was also serious, her students can testify to that as well as many in her community. She will be...

Dear Dawson Family, I’m so sorry for your huge loss. Carol was a wonderful friend and mentor. We worked together at Benjamin E. Mays School and had the time of our lives! We continued to be good friends until her passing. May “the God of comfort” give you strength. Love, K. Willis

Shayla you have my heartfelt sympathy. I remember going to your house to put your bike together, and your Mom was a great teacher.

Carol was terrifically warm, kind, and had such a positive energy! We worked together on the SPPS Curriculum Team, and it was my honor and pleasure to be both her colleague and her friend. I was a better educator - and a better person - from the time I spent around her. I cannot think about her without smiling.

I am one of her students from the original St. Paul Open School. She was an amazing teacher who truly loved her kids and promoted complex thinking and questioning even in the little kids. She impacted my life in ways that make me grateful and I still think about her.
Always a big and welcoming smile.

Lovely lady. I had the pleasure of working with her at Benjamin May's elementary. She was a very kind, warm, person with the biggest smile ever. Her love of children and dedication to teaching was exceptional. So sorry for your loss.
