Caroline (Peter) Luedtke, the daughter of Carl W. and Louisa (Schmidt) Peter, was born January 1, 1919, in Mackey, Iowa. Caroline died Wednesday, November 9, 2011, at her home in rural Lone Rock, Iowa, at the age of 92. She received her education in the rural country school near Mackey and was baptized and confirmed at St. Pauls Lutheran Church In Mackey. On February 14, 1945, she was united in marriage to Edwin Luedtke at Trinity Lutheran Church in Algona. The couple made their home on the family farm, which they farmed until their retirement in 1981. Edwin passed away February 13, 2006. She was generous to a fault, loved her family and friends, was an avid gardener, enjoyed growing flowers and was a gifted cook. Caroline was a long time member of Immanuel Lutheran Church; LWML; Lone Rock Auxiliary; Jolly Neighbors Club; Board of Human Care and Immanuel Tape Ministry. Left to cherish Caroline's memory are her children, Gerald Luedtke and his wife, Ronda, of Ogden, Iowa; Alan Luedtke and his wife, Kay, of Algona; Rita Scuffham and her husband, Rodney, of Algona; daughter-in-law, Debbie Luedtke of Ankeny, Iowa; four grandchildren, Jason Luedtke and his wife, Kelley; Kristal Luedtke Sieve and her husband, Todd; Lisa Luedtke Talbott and her husband, Barry; Ryan Luedtke; one great-granddaughter, Megan Luedtke; siblings, Albert Peter of Browerville, Minnesota; Gertrude Olson of Thor, Iowa; Carl Peter and Harold Peter, both of Algona; and many nieces and nephews. Preceding Caroline in death was her husband, Edwin; her son, Mark, her parents; sister, Hilda; and brothers, Edwin, Rudolph, Walter and Elmer. INTERMENT Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery Lotts Creek
