Pine Hill- Catherine "Kay" Tucker Brudniak Aspinall, 89 of Halcott Ridge Rd. died peacefully Wednesday February 22, 2012 at the Mountainside Care Center in Margaretville where she had been a resident for the past two years. She was an area resident for over 60 years. Catherine was a kind, generous, and loyal friend, who welcomed all children to her home, and always had room to adopt a small animal. She was a hard working person who had been employed at Rotron , Al's Supermarket in Boiceville, a bank and drug store in Olive, and made time for such important volunteer activities as serving as a Girl Scout leader, and a religious education instructor. Catherine was an avid reader, and had a sharp mind for crossword puzzles. She loved music, dancing, and was known to be an excellent cook of massive amounts of food for a crowd! Catherine was born Feb. 1, 1923 in Brooklyn daughter of the late Frank and Catherine Lynch Vallely. Surviving are her sons: James Tucker of Lynbrook, and William Tucker of Stone Ridge, and daughters Kathleen Jordan Pine Hill, and Virginia VanEtten of Newark Valley,NY. Two sisters: Margaret Holmes, and Helen O'Keefe. 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her husbands Edward Tucker in 1968, Max Brudniak in 1971,Edwin Aspinall in 2006,and sons Thomas and Robert. Her funeral procession will form on Monday at 9:30am at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home, thense to the St. Francis de Sales Church where at 10am a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in the St. Mary's Cemetery, Kingston. Memorial donations may be made to the Delaware Co. Hospice, or the Mountainside Care Resident Fund. Family and friends will gather to honor and remember Catherine's life on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the E. B. Gormley Funeral Home 87 Main St. Phoenicia.
