Not sure what to say?

My dad (a lifetime member of St. James Catholic Church) shared Catherine's beautiful obituary with me when I last visited him, and though I did not know Catherine, I wanted to offer my condolences to the family, and let you know that reading about her life, her devotion to helping others, and to democracy, was, and is truly inspirational to me to do more to help others. A life well lived indeed!!!!! Also, I have honored her wish with respect to the upcoming election.

For the longest time, I could never remember her name. I just knew her as mom. Catherine connected deeply to my sentimental heart and soul. I know...I KNOW...she is in a better place. Thank you, Laura, for sharing her with all of us.

I also had the pleasure of working with Catherine at CherryVale Mall back in the 80's and early 90's. She encouraged me to go back to school. When I finished earning my teaching degree I was pleasantly surprised to see her at my graduation. When I asked, "Who do you know here graduating today?" She replied, "You"! A special person indeed, supporting her wishes is my pleasure. Karen Conover

Unfortunately I did not know this obviously amazing woman, but I will certainly honor her on election day!

Catherine was a very dear, independent woman. Several of us noticed her calling Uber each week for a ride home after 4:45 mass at St James. We started taking turns giving her a ride home, which was a true pleasure. The 20 minute ride was filled with interesting stories about her life, and sincere questions about us. She was an absolute treasure - so full of love. Her gracious nature brought out the best in others. I am saddened by her death and extend my sympathies for your loss of this...

I'm very grateful to have known Catherine in my youth, and to have been befriended by all three of her wonderful children. Her spirit – warm and lighthearted yet with a steely moral compass – was an inspiration to all who knew her. Godspeed, and all good wishes from Colorado.

I so admired Catherine, growing up with Tom, Marie, and Laura. Holding a special place in my heart for memories of her.

Deepest sympathies to all of her wonderful family.

As a friend of her daughter Laura, I spent many hours with Catherine and counted her as my friend too. She was so much fun! She had a gift for friendship and a warm touch with people. Being in her company inspired me to feel being old could be cool. I have many funny, loving memories and miss her. A wonderful woman.

I remember Catherine dearly working at the info booth with me. She trained me and many others. She counseled young moms about stroller safety and kept those strollers clean. She made sure kids weren't running on the ramp and smiled and listened to everyone's stories. She will hold a special place in my heart. Peace and love to your family. And I will honor your wishes!
