Life is not about how long it was, but how good it was lived and Catherine Edwards lived her life in abundance. She made every day the best day for herself and anyone she was around with just a smile.

Even on her last day, she maanged to bring her children together to smile and Catherine then made her way home on Thursday, October 18, 2018, at the age of 84 with a smile.
Catherine began her life's journey in Monroe, Georgia. She was born on March 24, 1934, to Mose and Claudia Robertson. In Novermber of 1944, Catherine and family made their move from her childhood home in Georgia to Chicago, IL. Here she met the love of her life, James Edwards, and on December 11, 1954 they were united in marriage. They were blissfullly together for 45 years.

Catherine accepted Christ early in her life and joined Trinity United Church of Christ in 1991. Catherine was devout in her belief in Christ. Catherine worked in the manufacturing industry, until her retirement in 1997. Catherine loved to travel; her favorite being cruises. She also loved to cook for family, her best dishes being potato salad, roast beef and her famous squash pie. She enjoyed walking, people watching and seeing Gladys Knight in concert. Most of all she loved spending time with her famiy.

From her union in marriage to James, Catherine leaves to cherish her memory three children: Michael (Krystal) Edwards, Carolyn (Harold) Coats and Tangie (Karl) Johnson; eight grandchildren: Quiana, Kelli, Ashley, Naja, Christopher, Jorie, Michael II, and Kyle; five great grandchildren: Daivon, Deven, Ava, MacKenzie and Creed; four sisters: Doris Larkin, Geneva McCall, Sarah Williams and Marquerite Jenkins; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and close friends.

Her parents, Mose and Claudia Robertson; her husband, James Edwards; sister, Lucille Payne, and her brother Hinton Robertson all preceded her in death.

Aunt Catherine was a quiet and faithful lady who was full of love joy and helpful. I thank God i got to talk with her and enjoyed her company. She loved her late brother in which she called him bro. What a sweet spirit she left him on earth
