I have such fond memories of Kaky. We went to high school together for two years, worked in the same office at the University of Tennessee Departmrnt of Pathology for many years and were so very close. She was my Maid of Honor when I married John Farmer, Jr. in 1954. Even though our lives later took separate paths I will never forget her warm friendship. Rest in Peace, dear Kaky.

Kaky was truly the "go to" person for help with adoption matters. She was always very courteous to respond to any questions I had and she took the time to guide me on any adoption cases I filed. She made sure things were done properly, and she corrected any errors without causing embarassment. Whenever I saw her in the courthouse, she always greeted me with a smile and a kind word.

Kaky was at Chancery Court when I started practicing in 1978. I quickly learned that the court clerks know way more about practicing law than beginning lawyers. I often sought Kaky out for guidance in Chancery matters. She was always so professional, gracious and extremely knowledgeable about the areas she handled. No adoption was completed in Shelby County without her review and approval. Though I didn't know her outside the courthouse, when she retired I felt like I'd lost a friend. ...
