Not sure what to say?

I was a waitress at the Steer for a few years and waited on Mrs. Brooks and her sister and friends. She would bring women for their birthday's and always she paid. I often thought some of these people either couldn't afford to go out or had no one to go out with on their birthdays. I always wished I could have talked to her more she was a very intelligent lady. The new waitresses were scared of her but if they were trying she was always kind but she knew when someone was lazy and she would...

Mrs. Brooks was a reamarkably intelligent lady, full of fire and had no fear in writing about her opinions when she felt compelled to. I'll always remember her and Nellie and their cocktails at The Golden Steer, "Bourbon on the rocks with a twist!", she'd tell me while Marvin Fritz would be swirling the dancing tunes on the organ. Such lovely and fond memories I have of Ceci and visiting her when she was still in her apartment. Such a great lady she was.

Cecelia will be remembered fondly. She was married to my great uncle Herbert Brooks, and they shared many great years together. Her devotion to him and his family always will be appreciated. God Bless You Cecelia.
