Cecil LeRoy Clark, the son of George and Ethel (Roots) Clark was born August 6, 1936 in Hastings, Iowa. He passed away on Monday, November 26, 2012 at the Methodist Hospital, Omaha, Nebraska at the age of 76 years. Cecil graduated from high school in l954. He served his country in the U. S. Army from October 22, 1959 until his honorable discharge on February 5, 1962. He was united in marriage to Karen Kay Adams on July 23, 1964 in Omaha, Nebraska. When Cecil, returned home from the service, he worked for his dad on the farm. Cecil and Karen made their home in Hastings until moving to Acorn Acres in Red Oak in March of 2005. Cecil spent most of his years working for the John Deere dealership in Malvern and later in Red Oak. He enjoyed bowling, NASCAR, his grandchildren and great-grandson. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters: Hazel Eddie, Doris Alexander and Linda Davis; and brother, George Clark Jr. Cecil is survived by his wife, Karen of Red Oak, IA; children: Raymond and Jan Harris of Blue Springs, MO; Mary and Greg Wade of Red Oak, IA; and Ken and Kristin Clark of St. Louis, MO; grandchildren: Matthew and Miranda Wade of Council Bluffs, IA; Emily Wade and Brian Wade of Red Oak, IA; Christine Harris and Stephanie Harris of Blue Springs, MO; Mitchell Clark and Evan Clark of St. Louis, MO; great-grandson, Preston Wade of Council Bluffs, IA; and sister, Betty Benson of LasVegas, NV; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Funeral Service will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Burial in Evergreen Cemetery, Red Oak Pastor Carl Phillips, Officiating Visitation with the family present on Thursday evening from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home Memorials may be directed to the family. Sellergren-Lindell-DeMarce Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
