Not sure what to say?

Remembering both Cecil from our Conference days and Bob from our Huguenot UMC days. I send you every blessing and prayer for comfort.

I pray the Lord comforts Mrs. McFarland during this time of grief. I am honored to say I've been Rev McFarland's Chaplain in Pocahontas Correctional Center for 5 years...he was an awesome man to work for and be around

I am so sorry for your loss Mary. What a terrific example Cecil gave of serving till God calls you home. No doubt he will have a brief rest before asking "Next?"

We will really miss sitting beside Cecil at the VCU basketball games. Our hearts are with you in your time of sorrow.
Beth and Jim Belcher

We admired you all at the VCU basketball games that both of you faithfully attended. It will not be the same with Cecil not there. We sit in the row behind and to the right of your seats at the Siegel Center.

I appreciate Mr. McFarland for giving me the opportunity to minister in the prison system here in Virginia. He once told my wife, "Hi, I'm Cecil McFarland. I'm the one who put your husband in prison!" He will be missed.

To the McFarland Family:
What a great loss for Chaplain Service and the Christian community at large. Cecil had a big heart and was a wonderful employer. He will be greatly missed.

Cecil was a wonderful fella with a heart of gold and a true servant's heart. His fine example positively impacted so many of us who had the privilege of knowing him. We were in the same Rotary Club of Richmond and he epitomizes our motto of "Service Above Self." May light perpetual shine upon him and God be with his family and friends at this difficult time for us all who miss him.
