Not sure what to say?

We were saddened by the passing of Dr. Baskin. He was a valued member of our organization, the Association of Official Seed Analysts, and served us in many capacities. He was our President, chaired numerous committees, and received the Meritorious Award. His expertise and knowledge were invaluable to our members through his training of many of our analysts and his research work. We extend our condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.

Susan Reed, AOSA President

Dear Billie,
We just learned that Charles has gone to his heavenly reward. He visited me in Lubbock, Texas, when I worked for DeKalb and helped me get my job at MSU. We had many years of good relations here until you folks moved to Mobile. I know what it is like to lose your spouse (Darlene in 1996) of many years. Ellie and I have been married for 15 years and my family nearly doubled when we married. It keeps us on the road visiting seven children, thirteen grandchildren and four...

So glad to see some pics of my Uncle Charles whose warm hugs, slow loving words and gentle ways are forever imprinted in my memory. I had hoped to visit again with Charles, at the family land in Kinterbish, Sumter county. Hopefully I will walk that land again before long with Charles' Grandson Christopher Weeks and we can reminisce about Charles Christopher's ( our namesake) love for things growing. All my love to Billy, Jeanine and Greg, Chris Baskin (Portland, Oregon)

It was so hard to learn of Dr. Baskin's death. We have many fond memories of a good man who made a difference in the lives of a lot of people - professionally and personally. We are blessed to have known him.

We keep remembering those beautiful roses he used to grow and how pleased he was to supply them for Jeannine's wedding. He certainly loved his family.

Dr. Baskin was a brilliant cotton seed technologist. He was a great mentor and tremendous help in my start in the cotton seed business with Delta and Pine Land Company as I called on him many times for assistance. I am sorry to hear of the loss and I will keep Billie and the family in my thoughts and prayers during this difficult.

Dr. Baskin was a wonderful scientist, a kind mentor and dear friend. He was always ready to guide and advice all of us, students at the Mississippi State University Seed Technology Lab. We all have the best of memories from him.
My thoughts and payers are with his wife Billie and his family.

I have not seen Charles in years but went to school with him in Sumter County. I am sorry for your loss.
