Charles Pirtle

I had heard of Charlie while I was in the Border Patrol but never got the opportunity to meet him until working with the Rural Border Patrol Operations course out in Socorro, NM. I knew Charlie to be one of the friendliest men that I have ever met. I enjoyed his company and learned much from him. His biscuits were great and he was a gentleman at all times. If you are a Christian you will see Charlie because he certainly was.

I met Mr. Charlie several years ago through Police Pistol Competition. He is one of the most interesting people that I have ever met and is without a doubt, one of the nicest people I have ever met. I have been fortunate to visit him at his home the last two years. The stories that he shared with myself and my colleagues will be memories that will last a lifetime. Mr. Charlie, you will definately be missed by your friends in Mississippi!

Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. I always loved to see Charlie. He was a special person and a real gentleman. Sorry for your loss.

Charlie was such a special person. I've known him since I was a little girl and I always thought of him as one of the few "real" cowboys left! He will be missed. I am truly sorry for your loss. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

We were both very lucky to have met Charlie. He was such a positive bright joy to be around. I know how important he was to Jody and what a wonderful father-in-law, actually father he was to her. Our prayers go out to all of you, especially Sara. Take care of yourself and allow people to take care of you.

Billy and I loved Charlie. We loved how you and he teased each other. We were honored to know Charlie and call him friend. I remember when I was a little girl at the pistol matches that he talked to me as if I were a "big person." My grandmother loved him, too, as he spoke Spanish to her and was probably at least as charming when he spoke Spanish as he was when he spoke English.
