RICHARDS, Charles J. - Of Flint, age 75, died Monday, April 13, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center.

Funeral service will be held 12 Noon Friday, April 17, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,

Major Jon Augenstein officiating.

Entombment at Flint Memorial Park.

Contributions may be made to The Salvation Army.

Visitation 6-8pm Wednesday, 12-4pm and 6-8pm Thursday and 11am Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Charles was born in Flint on January 30, 1940.

He married Darlene Jenereaul on May 13, 1961.
Charles owned Ace Machine and Tool Company for over 40 years. He was a member of The Salvation Army Church and played in the band for over 40 years.

Chuck loved his family dearly and felt that they were his ?world?. He enjoyed model car and boat building and was a master of the craft.

He and his wife, Darlene enjoyed traveling to England and Europe many times to visit family and in the summer you could find him strolling the streets of Petoskey and Charlevoix, or sitting in a chair on the beach of Lake Charlevoix.

Chuck was a true ?car guy?. He was interested in all cars from antiques to hot rods, and had a special love for Ferrari?s.

Surviving are wife, Darlene;

children, Kim and husband John Gatz of Burton, Shawn and wife Denise Richards of Gilbert, Arizona;

grandchildren Dane and Jeremy and wife Brittney Gatz;

great-grandchildren, Mya, Hudson, Weston and Lyla;

sister, Carol Lindsley;
brothers-in-law, Duane Spicer, Mylo and wife Lisa Jenereaul;
sister-in-law, Jane Smith and Lee Hungerford and
sister-in-law, Bertha Borgert;

mother-in-law, Amanda Skurka;

several special nieces and nephews.

Darlene,and kids I would like to express my deepest sympathy to you all, My father and I knew Chuck thru 30 years of business dealings, we spent many visits talking and I always appreciated his knowledge and Love of family.

Darlene,kim and shawn my deepest sympathy. I have known chuck most of my life. having worked with him all my years in business. I've always considered him a friend thru this. spent many a time talking and not just tooling. I will always remember when he visted Swartz for my father. as bad as he felt he came to honor him. this I will never forget. chuck was a man of honesty and integrity. it was my honor to have known and shared with him. my god bless you and comfort you.

Darlene, Kim, and Shawn, we join the many others offering our sincere sympathy in your sudden loss of Chuck. We remember him as a genuine, caring man - a loving husband & dad. And Chuck was so funny! Tom remembers their time together in FC band for many years. He will be so missed . Please know of our prayers for your family through this difficult time.

Chuck and I played in Central High School's marching and concert bands. I saw him at our high school class reunions over these past many years. I'm saddened to learn of the loss of another classmate. My deepest sympathy to all his family and friends.
