Uncle Emory, Grandma Lake, Aunt Dee, Aunt Marie

Dear Marie, Connie and Steve,

We are so saddened by the passing of your dad. He and your mom put us up many times as we traveled up and down the highway to Texas during the Viet Nam war when Charlie was in the Navy. They were our oasis, a place to stay, a pancake breakfast and a loving family always ready to entertain a group of relatives with a smile and a kind word. There are no words to express how much we will miss Emory.

Dear Marie, Connie and Steve,

I was so blessed to have had Emory in my life. He and Bruce were one of a kind - strong men who devoted themselves to family, community and nation. They were members of America's Greatest Generation. I know they are together and watching over us.

Dear Aunt Marie,
If ever there was a man that I looked up to as a role model it was my uncle Emory. I strive each day to live up to his example. I shall miss him beyond words. My great comfort is that he and my dad are reunited once again and await us with open arms and loving hearts.

Dear Mrs. Scaggs and Family
Connie and I were so blessed that our paths had crossed at such a critical time in our lives. You and Mr. Scaggs
always welcomed us into your family. You truly were our Mom and Dad away from Home.

Dear Grandma Scaggs and Connie,
I am so sorry for your loss. How wonderful to have had him as your husband and father! His memories will always bring a smile. May you all be united in heaven someday.

Dear Mom Scaggs, Connie and family,
Everyone who knew "Dad Scaggs" loved him. He was always gentle and kind and would do anything to help you have a better day. He will be sadly missed. The memories he gave us are precious. I am so happy to have had the privilege of having him as a wonderful friend. He was truly special.

Connie, I am sorry to hear about your Dad.You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Aunt Marie, Connie and Stevie,
Sorry we are so far away and can't be with you. Some of my fondest memories are of Virginia visits with Marie's African Violets and Uncle Emory's gentle spirit and wonderful words. I wish the girls and I could be with you all now.
