Mr. Charlie Marshall Horton, age 75, of Sunnyside Drive, Boomer died Sunday, August 8, 2010 at Avante at Wilkesboro. Funeral services will be held Wednesday 2:00 PM, August 11, 2010 at Thankful Baptist Church with Rev. John Rowe, Rev. Montrel Howell, Rev. Ronald Howell and Rev. John A. Speaks officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6 until 8 at Reins-Sturdivant Funeral Home. Mr. Horton was born May 30, 1935 in Wilkes County to James R. and Buella Howell Horton. He was a truck driver for Anderson Trucking in Lenoir. Mr. Horton served in the United States Air Force. He was preceded in death by his father and mother; a son, Charles "Skipper" Little and sister, Hazel Carlton. He is survived by: two daughters, Marsha Elaine Alexander of North Wilkesboro, Melissa Ann Jones of Winston-Salem, one sister, Elizabeth Horton of Traphill; four brothers, Nathan Horton and wife, Margaret, David Horton and wife, Gwenlyn both of Boomer, Wilson and wife, Gail all of Boomer, Royal Lee Horton of Philadelphia, PA; five grandchildren, Joakima Carter, Shalon Marshawn Little, Derrick Parker, Trae Alexander, Aliah Jones and a special friend, Luthedia Jones.
