Charlotte Parr Smallwood CRIMORA

Charlotte Parr Smallwood, 81, of Rockfish Road, passed away at 8:09 a.m. Tuesday, August 25, 2009, at her residence.

Born May 18, 1928, in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of Marvin Luther and Rose Olga Landes Parr.

She was a member of Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren and was a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Parr and Frederick Parr; and a grandson, Jason Smallwood.

Survivors include her husband of 62 years, Paul R. Smallwood; four sons, Paul R. Smallwood Jr. of Ft. Defiance, Wayne Smallwood and his wife, Jane, of Waynesboro, Steve Smallwood and his wife, Charlotte, of Waynesboro and Dean Smallwood and his wife, Regina, of Crimora; a daughter, Rita Elaine Smallwood at home; nine grandchildren, Gary, Larry, Brent, Mike, Brian and Jessica Smallwood, Melissa Ervine and her husband, Forest, Stacy Truslow and her husband, Bo, and Ciara Diehl; eight great-grandchildren, Jesse Smallwood, Tyler Ervine, Hunter Smallwood, Torie Smallwood, Garret Smallwood, Brooke Truslow, Alston Truslow and Izack McAllister; and a special family friend, Harvey R. Ball II.

A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Saturday, August 29, 2009, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes by the Reverends Daniel Wine and John Glick. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery.

Active pallbearers will be Gary, Larry, Brian and Jesse Smallwood, Forest Ervine, Bo Truslow, Jerry Allen, Brandon Long and Harvey R. Ball II.

Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Friday, August 28, 2009, at the Waynesboro Chapel of Reynolds Hamrick Funeral Homes.

Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Hill Church of the Brethren or New Hope Volunteer Rescue Squad.
