Chester Fox, 75 of Mayview, Missouri died on Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington, Missouri. Born Wednesday, February 10, 1943 in Warrensburg, Missouri, he was the son of the late Walton and Carrie (Haller) Fox. He was the husband of Dottie Fox and she survives of the home. He was a graduate of Mayview High School, class of 1961 and lived in Mayview since 1952. He loved watching his grandchildren's sporting events and serving the community. He was a commissioner for the Mayview Special Roads District and served as the water commissioner for the City of Mayview. He served on the board of Mayview Community Betterment and the board for Marvin Chapel Cemetery. He was a member of the Odessa Historical Society. He served in the Missouri National Guard. He worked as a leadman for the General Motors Leeds Plant, retiring in 1993. He also helped as a seasonal worker for Ray-Carroll Elevator in Mayview. Surviving are his wife, Dottie Fox of the home; one son, Chad (Beth) Fox of Mayview; one daughter, Pam (Shane) Smith of Mayview; 8 grandchildren, Celeste Meuschke, Will Fox, Clay Fox, Seth Smith, Emma Smith, Adrain Smith, Abby Smith, Drew Smith. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wayne Fox and Lester Fox. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday at the Hoefer Funeral Home with Pastor Jesse Barnhart officiating. Interment will be in the Marvin Chapel Cemetery in Mayview. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM on Tuesday, at the Hoefer Funeral Home. To honor Chester's faithful service to his community and those who provided him comfort during his prolonged illness, memorials made to the family will be distributed in accordance with Chester's wishes. Casket bearers: Chris Wildschuetz, Bob Barnes, Tim Barnes, John Vahrenberg, Duanne Schemmer, Warren Hawthorne. Honorary: Ronnie Hawthorne, Seth Smith, Will Fox, Clay Fox, Emma Fox, Celeste Meuschke.

I still have his phone number in my phone cause while running route he was one of many customers I could call for help to get pull out of snow drift, help with flat tire and any other reason. so many good people live in mayview and most of them lived on my route. may he rest in piece, God Bless
