Nice Suits, Hawaiian Shirts
Christopher M. Duffy was determined. At 160 pounds, he was the fullback on his high school football team. He was captain of his lacrosse team and spent a good part of his time on the field knocking other players down.

But when his two brothers, one older and one younger, both grew to over 6 feet tall and Mr. Duffy stopped at 5-foot-10, he decided he just was not big enough. So he made up for it with muscle. "Chris was the most ferocious of the three of them," said John Duffy, Chris's father.

Chris Duffy was known for his weekend "Duff Jam" parties in high school. When his parents went away, Mr. Duffy and his friends would play. "They covered their tracks," said his father. "But over the years we learned about the extent of the parties."

Mr. Duffy, 23, started working at Keefe, Bruyette & Woods, where his father is president, as an assistant equity trader after graduating from Villanova in 2000. His sister Kara said her brother was a smart dresser, loving to shop at stores like Hugo Boss. Still, outside the office he was often seen in flip-flops and a Hawaiian shirt. His 12 closest friends, who were honorary pallbearers at his memorial service, wore suits -- and flip-flops.

Not sure what to say?

I just went to the 9/11 Museum for the first time. Chris was in my thoughts throughout my visit. And beyond. Love you all. NKD

I still remember the happy times when Christopher and all his brothers and sisters, and my two children Michael and Jennifer, would get together with the rest of the family during the Christmas holidays to play and enjoy each other’s company. To this day, I also remember and feel the pain of his death on that tragic day in September so many years ago. My heart and prayers go out to Kathy, John, all his siblings, and the rest of the family, in memory of Christopher forever.

In 2011 Rockford Mi organized a Healing Field with 3200 American flags each with the name of an honored beautiful soul lost. I was happy to volunteer and have never forgotten the faces of those who came to grieve and pay their respects. At that time I purchased Christophers flag and think of him often. I visited the memorial in NYC and found his name and said a pray from a stranger who feels a connection to his memory. My heart breaks for you and yours.

Christopher loved life, and life loved him. We miss you little brother!

Remembering Christopher on the 20th anniversary of 9/11...

Thinking about you and your family.

My now 15-year old son is also named Christopher M. Duffy, and just like this Chris Duffy, he is one tough Irish-American.

Watching the tributes this morning, your name, your brother (and his Hawaiian shirt!) grabbed my attention. My son, Christopher Michael Deschenes, joined the Marine Corps in 2005 to honor the victims of 9-11 and served two tours in Iraq. With all that Chris & his fellow Marines went through (then and now) it became clear to me that life is indeed fleeting and we must grab every moment while we can. So very grateful my son came home and so very sorry that your Christopher Michael did not....
