CLARE V. ROBINSON

Clare V. Robinson (Welsh) on July 30, 2020 died peacefully at the Philadelphia Protestant Home.

Clare was predeceased by her beloved husband of 57 years Jack, her parents, Delia and William Welsh, her sisters May, Madeline, Ann and Elva; her brothers Thomas, William, Eugene and Frank; and her grandson Thomas Stepek.

She is survived by her children Maureen Stepek (Michael), Christine Brady, John (Barbara) and Timothy (Michele); grandchildren Annemarie Bottino (Joseph), Michael Stepek, Jr. (Judy), Brian Stepek (Annika), Anthony Stepek (Natalie), Mary Fran Riffel (Brock), Blake Jackman (Chelsey), John Robinson, IV, Gregory Robinson (Amy), Caroline Peddle (Jason), Timothy Robinson, Jr. and Dana Wheeler (Stephen); and 22 great grandchildren.

Clare was born and raised in the Port Richmond neighborhood of Philadelphia. She graduated from Hallahan Catholic High School, and she worked in the publisher’s office of The Evening Bulletin for several years before her marriage . She and Jack lived in St. Martin’s parish for 58 years. The enjoyed travel, beach vacations, and family life and shared a deep devotion to their faith.

After Jack’s death in 2005, Clare moved to the Philadelphia Protestant Home (and St. William’s Parish), where she enjoyed a great social life, and as her health failed, wonderful care by the entire PPH staff, especially the nursing staff in the Chapters unit.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend Clare's Mass of Christian Burial 10:30 am, Wednesday August 5 at St. William's Church (MASKS ARE REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES WHILE IN CHURCH).

Viewing and Interment are PRIVATE. Friends and family are reminded to keep safe and in this case thoughts and prayers would be appreciated as much as, if not more than, church attendance. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Philadelphia Protestant Home with designation to the Chapters’ Unit Activities programs. Plans for a life celebration will be announced at a future date.
