Clarence Bizet Obituary

Clarence J. Bizet Clarence J. Bizet, 81, who retired as a staff sergeant in the United States Air Force, died Thursday, Sept. 9, 2004. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Dorothy Mae Bizet. The service will be at 11 a.m. EDT Monday at Culley's MeadowWood Funeral Home, Timberlane Road Chapel (850-893-4177), with burial at Culley's MeadowWood Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to the Covenant Hospice, 1545 Raymond Diehl Road, Tallahassee, FL 32308. He was a World War II veteran serving with the Marine Corps in the Pacific Theater. Following World War II he entered the Air Force and retired from military service in 1964. Following his retirement from military service he was an area editor with the Tallahassee Democrat in the late 1960s. In 1987 he retired from the state of Florida Agriculture Department. He was an avid outdoorsman and actively engaged in community affairs. Mr. Bizet was a member of the Forest Heights Baptist Church. He and his wife had recently celebrated their 54th wedding anniversary. Other survivors include two daughters, Glenda Locke (and husband Anthony) of Tallahassee and Catherine Doolos (and husband John) of Woodbridge, Va.; a son, Gerald Bizet of Tallahassee; three grandchildren, Kenneth Locke, Heather Dieter and Andrew Bizet; and three great-grandchildren.

Clarence was a co-worker and a good friend of mine. We shared a lot of World War 11 stories and worked on projects together. I will miss him. Sympathy to his family.
