VISTATION..........5-9 PM WEDNESDAY, APRIL 30, 2014 AT JOHN E. STEPHENS CHAPEL FUNERAL SERVICES; FUNERAL...............2 PM THURSDAY, MAY 1, 2014 AT JOHN E. STEPHENS CHAPEL; INTERMENT...........SPRING CREEK CEMETERY; Funeral services for Mr. Claude (Jack) Peebles Jr. will be held at 2 PM Thursday, May 1, 2014 at John E. Stephens Chapel with Rev. John Stephens officiating. Interment will be in Spring Creek Cemetery with military honors. John E. Stephens Chapel Funeral Services is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Peebles, 88, passed away on Monday, April 28, 2014 at Neshoba General Hospital. He lived in the Deemer Community most of his life and was a U.S. Army veteran. He received the purple heart and was a member of Blue Devils of WWII. Mr. Peebles retired from I.C.G. Railroad as section forman. His hobbies include railroading and fishing. He was a member of Southside United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Peebles Sr. & Roberta Ray Peebles; wife, Helen Coats Peebles (1996); (6) sisters, Hazel Ladd, Jay Carter, Pauline Smith, Jane Carter, Alma Eakes & Dorothy Brantley; brothers, Cecil Peebles, Edward Peebles, James Peebles; Henry Peebles & Dan Peebles; grandson, Noah Grant Robinson. Mr. Peebles is survived by daughters, Claudette McMichael (Robert) of Phila, MS, M. Teresa Peebles of Birmingham, AL, Patti Peebles of Phila, MS, Donna Peebles of Phila, MS, Kem Robinson (George) of Phila, MS; sisters, Otazell Adams of Meridian, MS, Velma "Bill" Morris of Phila, MS & Zelma "Tut" Henley of Phila, MS; (5) grandchildren, Tiffany McMichael, Aimee McMichael Mason (B.J.), Susie Hannah Williams, Taylor Robinson & Austin Robinson; (4) great-grandchildren Breanna Farhood, Brandon Farhood, Mason Hartness Bass & Brody Cole Mason; (2) great-great-grandchildren; host of nieces & nephews. Pallbearers are Robert McMichael, George Robinson, B.J. Mason, Taylor Robinson, Austin Robinson, Brandon Farhood, David Henley & Sid Peacock. Honorary pallbearers are purple heart comrades.
