Not sure what to say?

What a guy. Truly, Hoddle broke the mold...and mostly for the world's largest heart. In my years of working in a business where large hearts are a main feature, Hod is our example. He certainly embodied the Biblical phrase "greater love hath no man...." It was a rare and lasting joy to play golf and tennis, sing, and just hang out with this saint. They are in for some fun with Hod in the great cloud of witnesses!

I will most certainly miss the phone calls from my "90-Year-Old (etc.)Boyfriend" who always gave me a hearty laugh and a full update on his children and grandchildren - all of whom seemed to be .."that little Dickens.." and of whom he was unabashedly proud. His love for them was only outshined by his adoration of Celia. Hod taught me many things in the last 30 years, but I think the thing that stands out the most is his love of family. I will do my best to keep him...

The world has lost an irreplaceable character. I had the good fortune to be part of the Ecumenicals quartet, with Hod, for many years. There was never a dull moment when he was around. Sadness at his lost is inescapable, but it is balanced by the joy of having had him with us for so many years. Thanks, Hod!! it was a lot of fun, and there is more joy waiting for you, I know.

My prayers and heartfelt sympathy to the family on then.OSS of your dear father. May his love shine down from heaven to you everyday.

I'm so very sorry for your loss, Libba. Sending prayers to you and your family.

Our prayers and love are extended to you all. May God continue to bless your lives with thoughtful moments and treasured memories of Mr. Shankle--and the way he touched all your lives. Grace and peace,

To the Shankle family, it was a great honor in meeting and caring for Mr. Shankle. Him and his wife brought me joy seeing them and how much love that they express between the both of them. For the time that I have known Mr. Shankle it may have been short, but he has left a lifetime of memories with me. I pray that God will continue to hold to strenghen you durting this time of sorrow.

So sorry to read of Hod's passing. Seeing his face, brought back wonderful memories of our days in Greensboro. My sincere condelences.
