Clay Joseph Pinner, Sr, a native and lifelong resident of New Orleans, passed on December 28,2011. He was born on June 28,1923, to Delia Killeen(mother) and Clay Anderson Pinner (father) deceased.
He is survived by his wife, Eunice Geauthreaux Pinner of sixty-three years and six children: Colleen Pinner Kelly(Keith), Clay Joseph Pinner, Jr(Nur), Cathleen Pinner Serpas(Gary), Charles James Pinner, Charleen Pinner Trapp(Ronnie), and Clifford John Pinner. His sister, Katherine Pinner Graham(Paul), brother, Edward Pinner preceded him, brothers James, Raymond, and William Pinner survive. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren, Kerry, Kyle, Kathleen, Christopher, Christine, Lauren, Corey, Carol, Meryl, Christian, Alyson, and Kaelyn and four great grandchildren Kelcie, Jerry, Caleb and Carson.
Clay graduated from Warren Easton High School and enlisted into the United States Army Air Corp, May 1943 until Apr. 1945. Our father served with the 8th Air Force 351st Bomb group the 509 Squadron stationed in Polebrook, England returning home after completing the assigned thirty missions. He was recognized by the Army Air Corp with the following decorations: Commissioned as an Officer, Lt., Distinguished Flying Cross with1 oak leaf, Air Medal with 3 oak leaf, Middle East/African Campaign receiving 4 Bronze stars. On returning home, Clay enrolled with Tulane University completing his B.S. in Mech Engr. His interest were membership in the Holy Name Society (St. Gabriel the Archangel), as well as a Church usher , fishing, golfing with family and friends, member of American Legion Post in New Orleans meeting at the bomb group reunions in which Clay served as president for many years.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, January 2, 2012, at 12:00 noon, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 1050 Robert Blvd, in Slidell, LA. Friends may visit at the church on Monday beginning at 10:00am.
Graveside Services will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, at Biloxi National Cemetery at 12:30pm.
